We'd love to hear about your Happy Ending!

If you have adopted an animal from the BHS and would like to tell us your story, please email us at bhsinfo@berkshire.rr.com.

LoLo a.k.a Mickey

Hi there--just wanted to update you on the lop rabbit we got from you. You may know him as Lolo, but we renamed him Mickey. He has settled in amazingly well here--made himself right at home practically from the start.

He is the most affectionate rabbit I have ever seen; he loves to be held and petted, and will lick you to death if you let him. I've posted some pictures of him here on Bunspace if you want to check them out.

Thanks again for helping us find such a great rabbit!

Hillary

Hi!!!
I just wanted to let you know how Hilary is doing: She is great, great, great! We love her so much! She is fitting perfectly. I am so happy to have her. She "meowed" for the first time the other day. She is so cute. Please tell Bev she is in great hands and thank her for helping us that night. I will send a picture soon. We did change her name to Gracie. We love her so!
Thanks!! Kelley

CID

Hello,
We adopted Cid about 3 weeks ago, and we wanted to let you know how he was doing. He fits into our family and routine perfectly. He is doing great with our 2 year old daughter, and showers her with kisses all the time! Cid is also doing good with the cat. They play together, eat together, and even sleep together!

He is doing great with my mother's dog, which worked out wonderful, as we take them for walks together. Cid has claimed a chair in our living room as "his chair", and sleeps in it quiet often, snoring contently. He went to Valley Vet last weekend, for his checkup, and everyone down there loved him! Dr. Shanahan thinks that he is actually closer to 4-5 yrs. old than 8-9 yrs. old, which was good to hear!

Thanks! Becky, Mike, and Abby

MiMi

cat photo
Mimi has adapted very well to our family and home. She is so lovable and what an explorer! She has learned to open all the kitchen cabinets as soon as she found where her treats are kept. She jumps up and hangs on the door and uses one leg to swing herself around to open it. We never know where she will pop out from because she likes to hide in them. She gets along very well with our almost 2yr old cat Harley. They love to play with each other and chase each other around the house.

She is tolerating our bulldog Petunia very well. Petunia is a lover and Mimi is starting to see that. Mimi still has her little green bed and giraffe that came home with her and she sleeps on it every night. She loves to fall asleep with our 9yr old son tucked under the covers. She purrs like crazy. She loves to play with her plastic balls that have holes in them. She grabs them with her paw and throws them around and carries them around in her mouth. She went to meet our vet this week just for a routine checkup and they love her.
She has had no signs of allergies (it was suspected that she might have them when we adopted her).

Her fur has grown in quite a bit. It’s all white and getting fluffy now except for the "M" on her forehead. She still seems like she grooms herself quite often, but it’s not excessive anymore. She’s just making sure she looks good! thanks so much for taking the time with us during the adoption process and we are so pleased to have such a great cat and happy to provide her a loving home.

Justice

Hi, everyone, I just wanted to thank you all again for setting me up with my new best buddy, Justice. When I adopted her in July, 2006, the staff told me that she was born in Texas...it didn't take me long to realize that Justice obeys in both Spanish and English!

I'm a college professor, and these days Justice enjoys helping me with lecturing and office hours. She's great with students when they come to ask for help. She tends to snore in class, though.

Thanks! Tara

Ozzy & Harriet

To the staff at The Berkshire Humane Society:

Words cannot express how much we love our kittens Ozzy and Harriet (Formerly Virgil and Callie). The staff was incredibly helpful and Knowledgeable. We could tell how much they also truly love the animals at the shelter.
Ozzy and Harriet are doing great and we love having them as part of our family. They have wonderful purr-sonalities and want nothing more than to snuggle. They love playing together and sunning themselves in the window. Ozzy has a fondness for little fuzzy mice and chasing Harriet's tail. Harriet loves to be held and have her chin rubbed.

We could not imagine our lives without them. Thank you for all you do To help animals find loving homes.

Sincerely, Jim Irace, Kristin Civitella, Ozzy, and Harriet

Renaissance

cat photo Hi folks,

My new parents are almost fully trained. I’ve tried all the furniture, but this chair is my favorite. The cuisine also works well, but I had to assert my finickiness, in order to adhere to the cat manual.

I’ve already caught 1 mouse, but made the mistake of dropping it at Mom’s feet (I’m sure she was thrilled), and it ran underneath a desk….I’ll get it later. Mom bought me lottsa toys and treats, and I know my way around the kitchen.
Everytime someone goes out there, I run after them….it always results in a treat. Mom brought me to Dr. Reynolds, whom I like, for my “get acquainted” visit. Say “Hi” to all my feline buds, and I hope they all find a home.

Moose & Zena Once known as Lena & Felix!

I am absolutely crazy about both Zena and Moose. They are so wonderful. Everyday I just love them more (and if I do say so myself I think the feeling is mutual).

they are both spoiled rotten, and pretty much run the house. We are awaiting our vet appointment this Wednesday. So hopefully Moose can finally have a second ear-mite treatment along with some relief from his ears, they are still not so good. I can’t wait to have the vet help me determine what I can do to make him feel better. All of that aside, he is the most wonderful cat I have ever know, he is so loving, cuddly, funny, and seems so happy here.

He and Zena get along famously, they play, talk and cuddle. Becket, my other cat has accepted them both and they all seem adjusted.

Kindest regards, Destiny, Zena, & Moose

Moo

Hi! My family and I would just like everyone to know how our adopted kitten Moo is doing in her home. She was with two sisters and a brother in the shelter and we decided to adopt her because of her distinct facial features, and the fact she is a polydacty (she has six toes on each foot including a claw and bone!)

She has gone through a lot from losing her best friend on because of the cat food recall, and we would like to alert everyone that this can happen!

But she is now thriving and once again happy!
